Collette o’ Hanlon ( Occupational Therapist)

Established by Colette O’Hanlon, who has been working as an Occupational Therapist for over 18 years and specialising in Paediatrics since 2002.With over 16 years experience working with children and 14+ years as a Senior Occupational Therapist, Colette has amassed a wealth of experience particularly in the areas of sensory integration, motor skills, visual perception, functional assessment and handwriting. She has worked with children with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Co-Ordination Disorder (DCD), Dyspraxia, Chromosomal Disorders including Downs Syndrome, physical, sensory and learning difficulties, as well as children, who are struggling to complete many of their everyday tasks, who do not have a condition, but need a little assistance to help them to reach their potential and meet their goals.Colette has been involved in assessing for and recommending assistive technology, and accommodations for school exams (in line with current Departmental Guidelines RACE/DARE) as well as completion of Assessment of Need Reports (AON). She has completed the Handwriting Tears Programme and Print Tool assessment training and is one of only 2 therapists presently accredited in Ireland to assess children using the Handwriting Without Tears Print Tool. Colette has also completed the Listening with the Whole Body Course and can offer individually tailored Therapeutic Listening Programmes.Colette offers mainly clinic based intervention, but will be happy to co-ordinate services with both home and school in order to provide a child centred approach to assessment and intervention.
